Mixed institutional rags (MIR)

Mixed rags are clothing donated to an institution that are either determined to be unfit for the thrift store, or go a certain length of time (no more than 4 weeks) in the thrift store without being purchased. All mixed rags are then combined and baled. Loads of MIR weigh 40,000 to 44,500 lbs with each individual bale weighing approximately 900-1,200 lbs. Prices vary according to market conditions and location.

Credential clothing

Credential clothing is collected and sold immediately, in the exact condition as the organization receives it. Goods are still in the original bags as they were donated. No items (unless breakable) are removed. Goods may be sold loose or baled. Credential clothing contains the highest quality used clothing since the best items remain in the bags. Although more expensive than mixed rags, credential clothes yield a higher total quality of garments. Most credential will also include shoes, toys, etc.

Used shoes

Shoes are paired and rubber banded (unless otherwise noted). We remove pointed heels over 2”, winter boots and skates. Shoes may come either in gaylord boxes weighing between 350-600 lbs net weight, or in 50 lb polypropylene bags. Loads may also include purses and belts. These items are usually packed separately and may be either baled or in gaylord boxes.

Used toys

Toys are comprised of both hard toys and stuffed animals. Depending on the needs of the customer we can provide the stuffed animals either loose, baled or in polypropylene bags. Hard toys are normally placed in small boxes or gaylords depending on their size. We can provide full trailers of toys or we could combine toys with other items to fill a trailer.

Used purses

Purses and belts are combined into gaylords or smaller boxes. Unless specially noted, backpacks are included in the mix. While we do offer entire loads of purses and belts, smaller amounts of the product can also be combined with other items to make a full load.

Brick-a-brack

Brick-a-brac consists of a variety of items including pots and pans, misc. household items, furniture, etc. The items are generally sold in gaylords or smaller boxes. Brick-a-brac is sold by the pound in truckload quantities.

Used Books

Books are sold by the truckload. Books are packed in gaylord boxes weighing between 800-1,000 lbs each. We ask that no load contain magazines, encyclopedias or records. Books should be in excellent condition.

Store returns

Store returns are available from many department stores and name brands. Store returns are available in assorted gender, women’s only, children’s only, or household linen varieties. Full loads of store returns can be purchased, as well as individual gaylord boxes. The merchandise is normally sold per piece and price varies depending on market conditions and location.
